About Double R Western ™

Rooted in the rugged landscapes of southeast Idaho, my family's journey began as pioneers and homesteaders in the Teton Valley. In 1896, just six years after Idaho became a state, my ancestors settled on 300 acres below Packsaddle Lake, carving out a life in the Teton Basin (Tetonia, ID).

My great-great-grandfather Franz was part of this pioneering spirit. The family initially set out for Montana, but their journey led them to Idaho, where they manually dug a spillway for irrigation and eventually embraced steam-powered tools for logging. Their dedication to farming and building a home from the ground up is a testament to their resilience and spirit.

The image on our homepage features members of the Rudolph family, a name steeped in heritage and Western tradition. This symbol connects us to the land we cherish and the Western lifestyle we embrace. Additionally, the mighty and majestic bison featured on our homepage is one of my own photographs, capturing the essence of the West's untamed beauty.

Photography plays a vital role in telling our story. As a professional photographer and learning designer, I capture the essence of the Western spirit, showcasing the beauty and ruggedness of the landscapes. Through workshops, exhibitions, and community engagements, I strive to bring the rich history and culture of the West to life.
