About Double R Western™ – Our Story & Cowboy Heritage

Since 1896, our family has called the foothills below Packsaddle Lake home—planting roots in the shadow of the Tetons and carving out a life on Idaho ground. My great-great-grandfather Franz dug irrigation ditches by hand, logged with steam, and raised kids who knew the land barefoot. That legacy—that dirt—is still under us today.
Double R Western™ is a family-owned western wear brand dedicated to authentic cowboy heritage and sustainable western apparel. We aren’t just about vintage style or nostalgia. We’re committed to honoring the debt we owe to the land, our ancestors, and the communities that shaped the American West. Every shirt, hat, and mug we make is a small piece of that story—simple, honest, and built to last.
But our mission as a modern western clothing company goes deeper. Through our Renew & Restore initiative, every purchase helps feed bison on Wind River Shoshone land, supports Native American families and cultural centers, and keeps traditions alive by partnering directly with Native artists—ensuring the proceeds go where they matter most.
We’re here to keep the spirit of the West alive—not just in what we wear, but in how we live, give, and remember. If you value authentic western clothing, sustainable cowboy fashion, and ethical brands that give back, you’re riding with the right crew.
Join us in walking this ground, carrying the story forward, and keeping the legacy of western wear and cowboy values alive for generations to come.
Ride strong. Stay true. Live boldly.
